4. Do you want an open or enclosed shower area?
5. Do you want built-in shower storage for all your grooming supplies?
6. Does it need to be handicapped accessible and include seating with grab bars?
7. Are you looking for a super sleek and modern design?
8. Are you interested in incorporating more natural materials into the design?
9. Are you open to adding additional space, glass walls, or raising the ceiling as part of the design?
10. Do you have small children to accommodate, or are you planning to age in place?

We are going to walk you through some wonderful design choices and options. Hopefully, these designs will spark your bathroom shower remodel ideas so that when you hire your contractor, you have clarity about where to begin.
After answering the questions and going through the examples, visit a few showrooms to check out all the wonderful fixtures and options.

1. Transparent Partial Glass Wall- with a sleek new bathtub and a partial clear glass wall, this blue and white nautical-themed bathroom appears more spacious, elegant, and peaceful. The owners wanted to keep their tub and give the bathroom and more open and lighter feeling.

2. Here is an example of a stand – alone tub and separate shower. Using one tile throughout the bathroom creates the illusion of more space. The seamless glass shower doors are open to the ceiling creating more airflow and taking advantage of the ceiling height. This sparse space has a timeless and restful vibe.

3. Great county cottage design. The wooden cabinets add a richness and timeless look to this cosey country look. The clawfoot tub is everything you need for a good long soak. The design in the tiles and the “old metal” sinks complete the design. Come for a weekend and stay forever!

4. Black and white subway tile with black accents is the perfect timeless bath and shower decor. The black trim on the shower door frame ties in the tile and the tub with the sink’s fixtures. The shape of the tub, along with the top-mounted faucets, are the thoughtful details that make this bathroom a design success. Simple and yet so effective. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. Another bath and show remodel idea for the books.

5. When planning a bathroom remodel in Los Angeles, it's essential to hire a general contractor in Los Angeles who understands both style and functionality. Take this tub-shower room as an example. Designed with large tiles for easy cleaning and ample space for relaxation, it offers the perfect environment for a luxurious, private retreat. Whether you're looking to enjoy a solitary soak or share the experience, this bathroom remodel has quickly become a favorite among homeowners.

6. Bringing in natural light and a light breeze brings new energy to this bathroom shower remodel. Adding a glass wall or opaque glass door will open up space, allow you to connect with nature while enjoying your rain shower. The long bench looks elegant and servers as a great safety feature., Large marble tiles make cleaning a snap. Small-tiled texture flooring is a great additional safety feature for the shower. This bathroom is a breath of fresh air!!!

7. A bold pattern gets the job done for this Bathroom shower remodel in Los Angeles. One step up to the open shower tub area, trimmed in matching black. The black fixtures completing the bold design. The area still looks open as spacious. The designer made great use of the space, creating privacy for the tub area—lots of storage space, great lighting. Less is more in this wonderful optical illusion created by the show-stopping tile.

8.Don’t forget the recessed shelving for all your bath supplies. Keeps everything within easy reach and organized. You will never have to jump out of the shower again because you forgot your conditioner or the exfoliant. It’s also a great way to add a pop of color or your own personal flair to the tile design.

MAXIMIZE YOUR SPACE! ADD AN OUTDOOR KITCHEN TO YOUR LOS ANGELES HOME

While the team at Structura Remodeling continues to serve the Los Angeles area with creative and professional remodeling services, we’ve also been paying close attention to trends within general contracting. Now, with Summer approaching…tis the season of the epic BBQ, and the perfect time to discuss one of those general contracting trends. Did you know you could maximize your living space by adding an outdoor kitchen?

When it comes to Los Angeles renovation projects, we find that many clients weigh their options between expanding their current living space with a home addition vs. adding an
outdoor kitchen design. I’m sure you can imagine that adding an outdoor kitchen is much less of an investment than an addition to your home…but, there is more than just the benefit of saving on your estimate. Outdoor kitchen designs allow you to incorporate style, design, and convenience into your backyard.

HERE ARE A FEW PRO-TIPS ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT WITH AN OUTDOOR KITCHEN DESIGN:

Custom outdoor kitchens might consist of wine chillers, under-counter refrigerators, pizza ovens, wet bars, fireplaces, side burners, smokers, warming drawers and even roasting spits.

Not much space is needed to install an outdoor kitchen, the space just needs to be functional for cooking, entertaining, and relaxing.

Something to consider when planning your outdoor kitchen is the proximity to the indoor one.The more convenient this kitchen is to your indoor one, the less travel for items such as seasonings, utensils, dinnerware and food items.

Also, having an attached, covered outdoor kitchen can extend the length of time you can use this new food preparation and serving area.

When it comes to your outdoor kitchen remodeling project, lighting is just as important for making a mark in your outdoor space as it is when setting the tone for your indoor space. The ambiance is great, of course, but safety should be your top prioritywhen it comes to lighting around an outdoor kitchen.

HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS WHEN LOOKING AT LIGHTING FOR YOUR OUTDOOR KITCHEN DESIGN:

      Brighten areas where cooking.

      Pathways should be well-lit.

Your outdoor lounge and dining areas should have adjustable lighting.

During your outdoor kitchen design project, you’ll want to careful in selecting your materials. This is something that your general contractor should help you with. However, we wanted to offer another remodeling pro-tip when selecting your materials.

HERE ARE THE TOP MATERIALS TO USE FOR YOUR OUTDOOR COUNTERTOPS:

Granite. Granite is probably the best choice for outdoor kitchen countertops.

Next on the list would be Soapstone. Soapstone is another natural material that can be used outdoors.

Tile. Tile is a good choice for outdoor use as well, especial in warmer climates.

Concrete. Concrete countertops would be another great option for your outdoor kitchen. Not only are they on-trend with 2020 kitchen designs in Los Angeles but, also great with the weather.

When it comes to your remodeling project remember that no job is ever too small. We invite you to take advantage of a compliment in-home consultation. Having our team by for a consultation is a wonderful way to receive an estimate for your outdoor kitchen while also creating a 3D design. Remember, together with Structural Remodeling we can dream…design and build. We’re happy to answer any questions about your Los Angeles outdoor kitchen renovation.

Essential Goals to Set Before Starting Your Home Renovation

Life evolves, so do our living needs. Whether you’re adjusting to an empty nest, accommodating family members, or shifting to a home-based business, remodeling your home can be an effective solution to meet these changing demands without the need to relocate. Here are five essential goals to consider when planning a home remodel that aligns with your evolving lifestyle:

Expanding Your Living Space: Growth in family size or the need for specialized space, such as a guest suite for elderly parents or an au pair, often necessitates expanding your living areas. Home remodeling can creatively integrate additional space for these purposes, ensuring comfort and privacy for everyone at home.

Repurposing Existing Rooms: As lifestyles and family dynamics evolve, so does the function of your living spaces. With bathroom remodeling in Los Angeles, an outdated bathroom can transform into a luxurious spa retreat. This adaptive approach maximizes the utility and aesthetic appeal of every square foot in your home, ensuring it meets your current needs and preferences.

Creating New Rooms: Specific changes, like starting a new home-based business, may require constructing entirely new rooms. Deciding whether to expand outward or upward is crucial and depends on your property's layout, zoning regulations, and personal preferences.

Designing Outdoor Living Areas: More homeowners are seeing the value of outdoor spaces for entertainment and relaxation. Incorporating a deck, patio, or even an outdoor kitchen can significantly enhance the enjoyment of your home during warmer months, boosting both your home’s aesthetic and functional appeal.

Modernizing for Style and Efficiency: Over time, a home’s style may look dated and its fixtures less energy-efficient. A remodel is a perfect opportunity to update aesthetics and integrate green technologies. Modern fixtures, energy-efficient appliances, and sustainable materials not only reduce your environmental footprint but also decrease energy costs.

Communicating your goals clearly with your remodelers Los Angeles CA is vital. It ensures the final design is beautiful and perfectly tailored to your new life chapters. By focusing on these objectives, your renovated home will serve you well for many years, adapting right alongside you and your family.

bathroom remodeling in culver city

In order to age in place, our customer, a retired teacher, decided it was time to rebuild her bathroom in Culver City. It's time to retire the outdated step-up tub. The bathroom needed to be updated because it was outdated. She was eager to collaborate with the Structura Design Team and adored the suggestions made for the details and design possibilities. Our design team transformed a conventional bathroom into an opulent, secure, and modern bath. The bathtub was removed as part of the Culver City bathroom renovation, and a large walk-in shower was built in its place. There is a bench and a safety grab bar in the shower. A handheld shower and an additional overhead shower were installed. Her shower items were placed on two shelves that were made.

FEATURES OF THE NEW PROJECT

The client was thrilled with how we turned her requests into a practical and lovely design. The use of contrasting floor and wall tiles produced an eye-catching dynamic appearance. The addition of the accent tiles perfectly encapsulated the client's attitude and ingenuity. For the bathroom renovation, the big walk-in shower with transparent glass doors gave the impression of extra space. Everything on the client's wish list was delivered on time and within her budget. She will be able to live safely in her house and worry-free in her retirement years thanks to this bathroom.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REMODEL A BATHROOM IN LOS ANGELES?

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE COST OF YOUR LOS ANGELES BATHROOM REMODEL

Ready for your renovation?! Do you feel like you need more information before you can say yes to your bathroom remodel? The team at Structura Remodeling is here to support you. Having provided accurate estimates for bathroom renovations for over 16 years, we understand the details that go into creating a dream California bathroom. Today, we’ll explore the average cost of a California bathroom remodel in Los Angeles.

THERE ARE A FEW KEY THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN RESEARCHING THE COST OF A BATHROOM REMODEL.

1. Bathroom Size – The size of your bathroom will dictate the cost of materials and labor necessary to complete a renovation. Once you know your bathroom dimensions, you can estimate the pricing for flooring, cabinets, etc. This is where you have the most opportunity to control the budget. Whether you choose high-end, median-priced, or budget fixtures, cabinetry, and flooring will determine the pricing of your bathroom remodel.

2. Los Angeles Trends- Know what’s going on in your neighbourhood. If you plan to stay in your house for the next thirty years, then It’s ok to use any style and materials that make you happy. If you plan to sell within the next five to ten years, find out what is popular, looks modern, and appeals to most people when you sell your home. Go to a few open houses or check with a local realtor. They should be happy to help. After all, you could be a future client.

3. Budget – Again, your choices will affect your budget. Will you choose prefabricated cabinetry or high-end custom cabinets? The custom cabinets are more expensive but will last longer and give you more design options. Are you installing a stand-alone tub and shower or just a shower? Marble tile flooring or laminate? Whatever your taste, budget, and choices are, remember always to have a 10-15% contingency plan for unexpected expenses. For example, if you open up the walls and find plumbing or electrical that is not up to code and needs to be replaced. This is common in renovation projects.

HOW TO FEEL CONFIDENT IN HIRING A CONTRACTOR

Hiring a contractor can be a confusing process. You hear stories from friends and family about frustrating experiences they had in hiring the wrong contractor. Here is how to avoid the mistake of hiring the wrong contractor.

  • Check credentials- California has specific requirements for Contractors. Make sure that anyone you hire is licensed, insured, and bonded. Check online with the Contractors State License Board website. Also, if you are a member of Angie’s list, you can check with them.

  • Online review and referrals- Make sure the contractor has been in business for at least five years so you can check their track record with customers and the Better Business Bureau. Business owners can buy online reviews, so make sure they are from actual customers. Speak to neighbors and friends. Get referrals from satisfied customers.

  • Get three bids to compare. – The more specific you can be about your choices for cabinets, fixtures, flooring, the more accurate the bids will be. You have to be able to compare apples with apples. If you get a low-ball bid, ask the right questions to see what’s included and what’s not. What is their experience? Do they have licensed electricians and plumbers on staff?

HERE ARE SOME ADDITIONAL HELPFUL HINTS:

Know the square footage of your space. The size of your bathroom can play an important factor in the estimate of your renovation. Are you planning to remodel your master bath? Or do you have a half bath that needs an upgrade? In either scenario have the square footage is a great first step.

What’s your style? Do you tend to appreciate modern, clean lines, or do you love the look of shabby chic? Knowing your style will help get an estimate of the fixtures, materials. This will also help with the initial bathroom design.

Are you looking for a walk-in shower, or are you more excited by having that perfect bathtub where your Los Angeles bathroom turns into your spa? A shower vs. a bathtub will also affect the average estimate you receive for your renovation.

AVERAGE COST OF A LOWER-END BATHROOM REMODEL:

Consider you are looking to remodel your Los Angeles bathroom and work within a budget. There are options to keep your estimate for your renovation on the low end. An average price for a lower-end bathroom remodeling works out to be between $12,000 and $15,000. With Structura, financing is always an option. The simplest way to adjust your renovation cost is by selecting prefabricated or re-purposed counters and cabinets. Fixtures come in a wide variety of finishes and price ranges to fit every budget. Lighting fixtures are a good place to save money. Often there are copies of higher-end fixtures that will give you the look you are craving. Also, remember that costs are equated to square footage for both labor and materials. That’s why there is a price difference between remodeling your mater bath vs. your half bath.

THE AVERAGE COST OF A MID-RANGE LOS ANGELES BATHROOM REMODEL:

If your renovation budget is more flexible, there are some things that you can achieve within the mid-range bathroom remodel. The average estimate for a mid-range bathroom remodel is approximately $22,000 to $30,000. Some of the differences you’ll see with a renovation at this price point are wood cabinetry, up-leveled shower fixtures, and the opportunity to play with more variety of titles and stones for counters, flooring, and showers. The tile selection opens up huge design possibilities, especially when considering your bathroom flow and ensuring that you’re honoring California design trends.

THE AVERAGE COST FOR A HIGH-END BATHROOM REMODEL:

If you’re ready to invest in creating the bathroom of your dreams, you may find yourself in the higher-end budget for the cost of your bathroom remodel. The average estimate for a high-end bathroom renovation is between $55,000 and $75,000. Remember, financing is available, especially if you’re a Veteran or a Senior Citizen. If your Los Angeles remodel falls in the high-end, you can pretty much expect to dream…design and build your perfect bathroom.

You’ll most likely have the square footage to include both a stand-up shower and a soaking tub. Explore all the new technology. Customize your shower with light, sound, and temperature settings that operate by voice controls or your iPad. Get your morning news, weather, and stock market report with your morning show, or call up your morning playlist. Add a steam function to your rain shower. Also, add the perfect mood lighting for your new home spa experience. Choose Eco-friendly materials and heated towel racks. You may want to choose high-end stone, marble, or glass counters and contemporary designs that fit the California vibe as well as the upgraded fixtures. Wake up and step into your master bathroom, take a rain shower and end your day with a long soak in your tub. Enjoy a glass of wine and rinse off the day’s stress at home.

In the end, you need to learn more about bathroom remodelers in Los Angeles to determine how much it will truly cost to renovate your bathroom there.
